i always recommend the prophecies campaign for new players. its very enjoyable and replayable and a good way to get started. and a big plus side to prophecies is that its kind of a year old so prices should be lower than the normal $50.

Dont borther buying it. There are many new games in the pipeline. But if you must i recommend prophecies from a discount store and if you like it, watch out for Nightfall and dont borther with Factions, its junk.

I'm not going to argue whether prophecies players were grinding masochists or any other bullshit you label us. Hell, I'm coming from a pvp player's perspective. Factions PvP is a joke, recycled random arenas, and when I got into the pve, frankly it sucked. I still haven't beaten the game despite buying it in april, so don't label me as one of the rushers. I have no will to play factions because it sucks so much, I'd been perfectly happy just to buy the new classes and skills and NOTHING ELSE for 15-20$ instead of this thing they call PvE.

To Dr. Strangelove:
I don't want your biased statistics, you include the pvp AND pve aspects of factions and it STILL doesn't add to 25. Tell me, do you personally want to replay napui quarter or how about unwaking waters?? Yea I thought so. Sure you can get run through missions in prophecies, but thats not a fair comparison unless you also rush through factions like so many people claim us (who don't like factions) do. Where's the challange in factions?? Just throw in 15 rangers at once in gylala hatchery and its a challenge?? All factions did was add more and higher lvl mobs, so they taught people how to pull aggro, YAY, now go to team arena with your nuker, tank, monk setup and see how far you get with the "skills" you learned from these "challenges".

I'll admit prophecies had its parts that you just wanted to skip, as did factions. Maguuma jungle anyone? How about the whole damn city in factions? Only the city is like 30% of the content while the jungle was 16%.

Hey, I don't know why you and so many people defend Factions so much, maybe you like it, and thats OK, but claiming its better than prophecies is a matter of opinion, and just content-wise, Prophecies wins.

I'd recommend getting both. Start out with Prophecies though, and work your way onto Factions and eventually Nightfall once it comes out.

Don't get either.

If you want it for pvp, stick to...well i guess GW is the leader in MMo pvp, but it still sucks. All of the maps are bugged, none of the skills are balanced, and you dont have to be good to win. This game rewards idiots and farmers, rather than skilled players, or inventive players.

If you want guild wars for just the pve experience, stick to WoW. Not only are all pve people morons who don't read their own skills, but they call you noob for being better than them. Also the storylines suck. GW is obviously a pvp game.

LOL!!

GW's is a PvP game..PvE is a bonus

PvE will last 6 months top before it gets really boring

factions is crap, chap1 is better

there is ALOT of kids that do nothing but moan..hence me using the guy aboves post

overall a good game but you need another game to play when GW gets dull

if you are looking for a "real" challenge try EVE steep learning curve but alot less kids and nearly everything is legal..
